Tasty Tips

Well, after what felt like the longest January in history and a soggy February to boot, I can finally feel spring nudging its way in – and oh, how welcome it is! The birds are busy, the snowdrops are out, and there’s that wonderful feeling in the air: a fresh start, new energy, and brighter days ahead.

Spring at home – simple joys

Here at the shop, we’ve been having a little seasonal spruce-up! Out go the wintry tones, and in come soft florals and lovely fresh scents that make the whole place feel like a breath of fresh air.

So, if you’re in that “fling it open and let the air in” mood, we’ve got beautiful candles, diffusers, room sprays, and gentle ceramics that help bring that sense of calm into your space. There’s nothing quite like a good declutter, a fresh bunch of daffs, and a little corner of your home feeling brand new.

Eat well in Spring

Back by popular demand – our free spring recipes. Whether you’re baking for Easter, cooking up a cosy Sunday roast, or just fancy something a bit lighter and fresher, I’ve got you covered. Download my recipes – and if you make anything, do share a photo. I love seeing what you’re all cooking up!

March Musings

March is the gentle doorway into spring – a month of soft awakenings and hopeful beginnings. The days start to stretch out with lighter evenings that feel like a quiet promise of what’s to come. You can hear birdsong again in the mornings, catch the first golden daffodils nodding along the lanes, and feel a little warmth returning to the sun. It’s a month that brings a shift in energy – a fresh start, a chance to shake off the winter cobwebs, and begin again and Mother’s Day.

And I love helping you pick out something special for Mum.

We’ve got a handpicked collection of gorgeous Mother’s Day gifts in – think heart ceramics, keepsake candles, silk scarves, jewellery and beautifully illustrated cards. Some made just up the road, some from favourite small makers across the UK – all chosen with love. If you’re stuck for ideas, just ask – I’m more than happy to help you put together something thoughtful and just right.

Simnel Cake – A spiced fruit cake with that signature marzipan top.

May Magic

May feels like spring in full swing – confident, colourful, and full of life. The days are longer, the evenings warmer, and everything seems to burst into bloom all at once. Gardens are waking up, hedgerows are frothy with blossom, and there’s a real sense of momentum in the air.

It’s also the gentle beginning of wedding season, with save-the-dates pinned to fridges and plans in full bloom. Whether it’s a gift for the happy couple or something special for the bridal party, we’ve started building our display. Expect elegant keepsakes, personalised touches, and Mr & Mrs cards.

Aud’s MAY Kitchen:

Loaded Sweet Potatoes and Lemon Drizzle Cake

Time to bring a little brightness to your plate!

And for afters, try my Zingy Lemon Drizzle Cake. – a timeless bake with a citrusy kick, perfect with a cup of tea in the garden (if we’re lucky with the weather!).

Out & About in the Valley

This is such a beautiful time to explore the Ribble Valley. Lambs in the fields, and the first local markets are starting to buzz again.

And if you fancy a peek behind the scenes, look out for. Diary of a sheep farmer at lambing time– a little window into my old farming life, and a reminder of just how much love and graft go into the start of the season.

Thanks for reading, lovely people – and if you’re out and about in Clitheroe, do pop in for a natter and a browse. There’s always something new to see, and I’d love to hear what spring means to you this year.
