Hello Valley Living Customers
What a year it’s been! As we draw our final blog post of the year to a close, I want to pause, take a deep breath of crisp Ribble Valley air, and reflect on all the wonderful moments we’ve shared. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your loyal custom, for popping in to say “hello” in the shop, for sharing recipes, plants, garden tales, local business discoveries, and so much more.
The Year in Brief
What a lovely journey we’ve shared this year! Through our monthly blogs, we’ve wandered across the Ribble Valley, coffee in hand, spotlighting our favourite independent coffee shops, exploring day trips like Oakfield Nursery, and enjoying a pint on a sunny day at Bowland Brewery. We’ve celebrated Clitheroe’s brilliant traders, taken a trip down memory lane at Clitheroe Auction Mart, and continued to champion local makers and the small businesses that make our town sparkle. At the shop, we’ve introduced new scents and kept up our passion for UK‑made goods and thoughtful gifting. Thank you for walking this year with us, whether you read the blog, popped into the shop, or shared a post, it’s all part of what makes Valley Living feel like home.
And now, we’re heading into the festive season with bells on! Here are some key dates and our trading hours so you don’t miss a thing:
Christmas Shopping Event -Saturday 29 November
Join us in the town centre for the festive fun: Christmas jumpers, carols in the castle grounds, and Santa coming into town. We’ll update you nearer the time on our socials.
Valley Living Trading Hours
We will be open every day in December, except Christmas Day and Boxing Day, when we will be closed.
Opening hours are:
- Monday – Saturday 9.30 am – 5 pm
- Every Sunday 11 am – 3 pm
- New Year’s Eve: 9:30 am – 3 pm
- 1st January: Closed
So, plenty of opportunity for last‑minute gifts, stocking fillers, a cheerful catch‑up or a browse of candles, soaps, diffusers, garden bits and foodie treats.
Aud’s Kitchen: Our Thank‑You Present to You
In the spirit of wrapping up the year, I’ve pulled together all the delicious recipes we’ve shared throughout the year into one lovely eBook: “Aud’s Kitchen: 2025 Recipes”. It’s our gift to you, to say thank you for your ongoing support and to keep you cooking, smiling and feeling connected to the Valley. Whether you’ve made the Fish Goujons, Salad Nicoise, the Afternoon Tea Scones or the cosy Chicken and Pumpkin Risotto, they’re all there.
You’ll find each recipe organised seasonally, with notes and tips. It’s available for download here. We have also created a new Recipe section on our website, where you can view all my recipes in one place and search for your favourites.
Looking Ahead
As we gear up for next year, I’m already excited about discovering new UK‑made suppliers at the gift and home shows and finding more unusual items. Your ideas and feedback are always welcome. Your voice shapes the shop.
In the meantime, enjoy the festive sparkle, wrap up warm, brew a nice cuppa (or a steaming soup!) and drop by soon for a chat, a browse, or a scent‑sniff.
