Hello February

The weather has been pretty bleak, and with Valentine’s Day fast approaching, I pondered how to make the whole month a celebration, not just the 14th.

St Valentine’s Day is the year’s first big event, so we should embrace it, get in the mood, and show our love and appreciation to someone special, whether that person is your partner, best friend or neighbour.

Make February a Coffee and Cake Dates Month

There’s no better way to cheer yourself up than sharing a coffee and cake with your favourite people, so why not make a month of it and visit as many coffee shops as possible throughout February?

I was so excited by the idea that I popped into some of the best coffee shops Clitheroe has to offer. Luckily, there are plenty to choose from, all welcoming with a large selection of drinks and cakes.

So, instead of waiting for spring, I encourage you to visit our beautiful town and share a coffee (or tea) and a cake with your favourite people.

Coffee and Cake For Two

There’s no better way,

To brighten any day

Than coffee and cake for two.

So make some time,

No need for wine

Just coffee and cake will do.

A slice or a bun,

Choosing is fun

As long as it comes with a brew

Conversation will flow

You will feel all aglow.

With coffee and cake for two.

Aud’s February Kitchen

It’s February, so we must feature one of the most popular foods of love: Chocolate!

Chocolate contains a substance that inflames desire and makes your beloved more open to romance. In the olden days, this resulted in the tradition of European royalty giving their lovers chocolates mixed with amber to stimulate their love.

This month’s recipe is made from chocolate, is easy to make, and only takes 15 minutes to prepare. It is utterly delicious, so I urge you to try it!

And if you fancy celebrating St Valentine’s Day at home, you could make my Canapes and Fizz, as featured last year. You can download the recipe here.

Have a great month.
