November is a wonderful time to refresh your home in preparation for winter. It’s the perfect opportunity to add warmth and personality through thoughtful decor and creative touches.
Whether preparing for the festive season or simply looking to create a cosy haven for the short days ahead, we have some inspiration for you.
Cosy home decor trends for November
Comfort, light and warmth are the key points for home decor in November and this be achieved by adding soft textures, plush throws, and candles with warm hues to transform our living spaces into snug retreats. Try integrating earthy tones and natural elements such as wooden accents and greenery, which bring a touch of nature indoors.
My personal favourite at this time of year is strategic lighting, a must with the onset of darker nights. Swap brighter lights for softer, warmer options like table lamps with warm-toned bulbs, lanterns or even fairy lights – all perfect for creating a serene and inviting space.
Nature-inspired home ideas for November
Consider introducing nature-inspired elements into your home, such as dried flowers, pinecones, and wooden accents and remember to incorporate seasonal scents like cinnamon, orange, and cloves through candles, room scents, or potpourri for an inviting aroma.
Gather some dried leaves, pinecones, and berries, entwine them into a grapevine wreath, and you’ve got yourself a stunning piece to grace your doorway. If you have always fancied making your own wreath but you don’t know where to start, check out the wreath making workshops at The Lovely Cow Shed.
Upgrade your dining space effortlessly with handmade table runners or napkins in rich palettes of burnt orange, deep red, and gold to bring the autumn essence indoors. If you are arty, you could even use fabric paints or stencils to add motifs like acorns, pumpkins, or leaves.

Lia LLeendertz encourages us to light candles and write down a few thoughts for our November table. Think about the countryside at the moment and how everything is closing down and dying, but that light and life and spring will all come around again. Here’s her suggestions for your November table:
- Autumn leaves
- A bowl of chestnuts
- Chrysanthemums in oranges, yellows and reds
- Orange or white candles
- Bare twigs
- Mushrooms
- Pumpkins
- Apples
